"Several members from our agency attended the Recovery of Human Remains training offered by Suncoast Forensics. Everyone in our group really enjoyed the class and learned a great deal. We have already had the chance to test out our new skills! We got a call for a surface scatter in a wooded area which was believed to be a missing person/homicide victim. Thanks to Dr. Tise, we were able to intelligently process the scene (after we made patrol hold it until daylight). We recovered almost all the remains as well as some identifying items and useful evidence. We then removed the layer of dead leaves in the area, which allowed us to find even more evidence.
