This 3-hour live webinar provides crime scene personnel, death investigators, and forensic professionals with practical knowledge and skills regarding the documentation of death scenes and deceased individuals. Effective forensic photography is more than just taking pictures, it is about creating a permanent, objective record that preserves critical evidence for investigation and courtroom presentation.
This course covers the full process of photographic documentation, from scene orientation and overall views to detailed images of the deceased, injuries, and postmortem changes. Participants will learn how to adapt techniques to a variety of challenging conditions, including decomposed or burned remains, outdoor burials, and multiple fatality events. The course also highlights the integration of specialized technology, including UV/IR photography and the use of alternate light sources, while reinforcing the importance of foundational photographic practices.

This class is pending approval for 3 hours of IAI Crime Scene Recertification credits and 3 hours of ABMDI continuing education hours.
